Honey Apple Squares

Ingredients:

1/2C Brown Sugar

1/4 c White Sugar

1/2c Canola Oil

1/4C Honey

1 Egg

1t Vanilla

1C+ 2T Flour

1 1/4C Oats

2t Cinnamon

1t Baking Powder

1/2 Baking Soda

1/2t Salt

3 Apples, thinly sliced

1/2 C White Sugar

Directions:

Pre-heat oven to 350°F. Spray/grease an 8x8 dish.

Whisk together sugars, oil, and honey, add egg and vanilla.

Add dry ingredients and mix well until batter thickens. Set aside 1/2 cup of batter and press remaining batter into dish.

Remove skin from apples and slice them thinly. Add 1/2C white sugar and mix well. Place apples on top of batter in dish. Place small pieces of the set aside batter on top of the apples.

Bake it 350° for 25-30 mins, until browned.

Alternatives: Instead of fresh apples, open a can of apple pie filling and cut apples in small pieces with a knife in the can and pour over batter.
